Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs from Carl Hansen & Son

Description

Set of 10 authentic Wishbone chairs designed by Hans Wegner and made by Carl Hansen & Son in Denmark. Black paper cord on painted frames.

Designed by whom/when The CH24 was designed in 1950 by the young furniture maker Hans Wegner who was inspired by images he saw of Chinese Imperial thrones brought home by Dutch traders returning from the Far East. The Y back detail of the wishbone chair reflects these observations.

Fabrication Solid European beechwood frame in semi gloss black lacquer with dyed black natural paper cord woven seat.

Hidden Features The complex woven seat construction is a trademark feature of the CH24 wishbone chair.

DC Stylist The all black wishbone chair best highlights the design silhouette plus won’t clash with a natural timber table, joinery, or flooring. Best paired with a thin table top to allow chairs to tuck in under.

Design Consigned Collector Authentic serial numbered c2007 originals, manufactured in Gelsted, Denmark by Carl Hansen & Son. *Beware of fake replicas.

Mark of authenticity All wear Carl Hansen branding and serial numbers.

Design Consigned Insider 2024 RRP AUD$2,475 each x 10 = $24,750

Our Condition Report 4/5 Noted some small marks to a few armrests from meeting a thick table edge (reason for selling). Unlikely to be noticed / easily retouched. No sign of use to paper cord seats.
