Thonet Dining Chairs x 8
6 chairs and 2 carvers make up this extremely rare set of Thonet dining chairs manufactured in Austria in 1890 and brought to Melbourne by the owners family. Still going strong after 126 years, a real testament to Thonet quality.
Known for their steam-bent timber furniture, Michael Thonet began crafting furniture in Austria the 1840s and his four sons continued the business after his death in 1871. Today Thonet chairs are known and loved around the world and there is even a Thonet Museum in Frankenberg, Austria, opened in 1989.
These chairs have been authenticated and valued by Thonet Head Office in Vienna. [Documentation will be forwarded to the purchaser]
All in perfect working order but could do with a polish………or perhaps best left with their beautiful aged patina?
