Designed / launched by whom/when:The Swan chair was designed in 1958 by Danish Architect Arne Jacobsen (1902-71) for the Radisson SAS Airline Hotel in Copenhagen. It was then, and still is, manufactured under exclusive licence by Copenhagen’s Republic of Fritz Hansen.

Inspiration: The graceful curves and rounded form of the swan chair are the result of experimentation with an innovative new material of the time, cold form polyurethane.

Fabrication: Polyurethane foam core, fibreglass reinforcement, 4 way Star shaped, zinc welded, satin polished aluminium swivel base with rubber glides, satin-chromed tubular steel central support. Kvadrat Fabric – Tundra 2 Col-447
