Set of 4 ICS stool by Rodrigo Torres for Poliform

Set of four ICS stools by Columbian designer Rodrigo Torres (b1976) for Poliform. Torres earned a Masters in Design at the Domus University in Milan and worked at Studio Giovanonni. He designs furniture for Poliform and develops products for other brands, including Alessi, while also lecturing in Product Design at the Domus Academy.

The Designers Inspiration The support draws on the geometry of the triangle, and on top of the ‘teepee’, a square with gently rounded corners appears to balance.

Fabrication Solid wood legs with seat of plywood with Spessart oak veneer. Stainless steel footrest.

Design Consigned Stylist Handsome stools offering great stability. Overall look is black, but up close streaks of beautiful rich browns from the woodgrain randomly appear through the ultra matt black finish. The unique silhouette is further accentuated against a light stone bench.
