Beetle dining chair designed in 2013 by Studio Gam Fratesi for Gubi Denmark. Already considered as  a 21st century design icon. Set of 10 in grey velvet on black metal legs.

The Designers Inspiration The insect world, the beetle, its shape, and curved protective shells, and the sutures of a winged insect. Rigid outside protecting the soft inside. Tapered conical insect like legs.

Fabrication A two part anatomy. High tech 3D multi axis curved moulded plywood seat and backrest sections. Polyurethane foam padding. Steel base and tapered rod legs with matt black powder coat paint finish. Plastic glides

Extra Features Fabric is melded onto the frame to prevent wrinkles and sag. Edge seams piped in same.
