IN-52 Rudder table by Isamu Noguchi for Herman Miller

SOLD  Authentic vintage Rudder IN-52 coffee table with fin support designed in 1949 by Japanese American sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988). The IN-52 has an amorphic shaped top, much the same as Isamu Noguchi’s glass topped coffee table. This design is an authorised archival reissue of the 1952 release by Herman Miller.

The Designer’s Inspiration Sculpture and furniture design were instilled in and intertwined for Isamu Noguchi from a young age, by his father Yonejiro, a Japanese poet, and his mother Leonie, a writer of Irish descent.

Hidden Features The american plywood will develop a nice deeper tone over time.

Fabrication Multiply American walnut, two chrome tubular hairpin supports and single carved solid american walnut ‘surf fin’.

Our Condition Report 3/5 (that’s vintage purchased over 10 years ago) Excellent condition with no missing parts, no detracting marks or damage. A few light scratches unlikely to be noticed.
