Inspiration Influenced by Ettore Sottass, Adam Tihany (b1948 Transylvania) studied architecture at the Milan Polytechnic and then apprenticed at a number of Milanese design studios during the height of Memphis Design movement in Milan. He relocated to New York and established Tihany Design .com  becoming one of the worlds leading hospitality and hotel designers. Many of his furniture pieces, including these chairs, were manufactured by 4Mariani Como.

4 Mariani brothers Biagio, Tarcisio, Umberto and Emilio founded their furniture brand 4mariani in 1957 based north of Milan and with a focus on detailed, high quality leather upholstered pieces. The company continues to produce luxury furniture for the global market.

Design Consigned Collector These chairs were purchased by the owners for US$9,000 each during the 1990s from award winning Manhattan design store Pace NYC.

Our Condition Report 3/5 Excellent vintage condition (over 10 years) Structurally sound with no fade, wear, tears or scratches to the leather. Have been in storage since 2020.
