The iconic Oval dining table or desk designed in 1961 by Florence Knoll for Knoll. This one has the calacatta marble top gloss finish.

Design Inspiration As a result of not being able to source the perfect table to complete a project, Florence designed it herself exactly as she needed it to be and in doing so created a design icon of perfect proportions.

Fabrication Bright mirror polished solid steel base, gloss calacatta marble top with edge under bevel detail and toughened mesh backing to prevent cracks.

DC Stylist An elegant oval of richly veined Tuscan marble with some warm tones through it. A table that defies being typecast and won’t clash with timber floors or joinery.

Condition Report 4/5 very good condition with occaisional use in a formal dining space. No stains, marks, or chips to the stone. Base excellent. Has been in storage since being photographed. A professional polish and buff will bring the marble back to a high gloss …. but maybe you prefer it more matt / less reflective, vintage style as it is ?
