Set of ten B&BItalia ME-48 metropolitan dining chairs in ivory leather designed by American Designer Jeffrey Bernett.

Designed / launched by whom/when: Created for Italian makers B&BItalia in 2003 by American Designer Jeffrey Bernett (b1964 Illinois), founder of multi-disciplinary design Studio Bernhardt [est 1995] NYC.

Inspiration: A sled based chair

Fabrication: Bright chromed steel flat profile ‘sled’ base with smooth thick ivory leather covers.

Hidden Features: Fully removable and reorderable upholstery.

Design Consigned Stylist: Elegant modern upholstered chairs with comfortably padded back and seat. Go well with all timber tables / floors.

Design Consigned Collector: Amazing set of 10 authentic Metropolitan chairs, made in Italy by B&BItalia. All in excellent/same condition with no detracting faults. Expect to pay $22,000 plus for a new set of 10. Request a video of these chairs.

Stamp or Mark of authenticity: Visible B&BItalia logo embossed to base of seat back.

Purchase Verification: 1990s, one owner downsizing. Minimal use in a formal dining space.

DC Insider: Jeffrey Bernett studied Design at the prestigious Parnham Collecge England. He presented his first Collection at New York’s ICFF Design Fair in 1996 going on to receive the Best Designer Award in 2000.
