ME-48 Metropolitan dining chairs in ivory leather by American Designer Jeffrey Bernett for B&BItalia. Bernett was one of the original designers for B&B Italia and helped introduce the brand to the American market. Set of 10.

Designed / launched in 2003 for B&B Italia by American Designer Jeffrey Bernett (b1964 Minnesota), founder of multi-disciplinary Consultants for Design Strategy [est 1995] NYC.

The Designers Inspiration A sled based chair that is functional, comfortable, and visually pleasing.

Fabrication Bright polished chrome steel flat profile ‘sled’ base with steel internal frame and bayfit cold form polyurethane padding and ivory smooth analine leather covers.

Hidden Features Fully removable covers.

Design Consigned Stylist Elegant contemporary upholstered chairs with the comfort of a padded back and seat. Won’t fight with timber tables / floors. 90s American minimalist aesthetic, think Calvin Klein Home.

Design Consigned Collectors Rare original set of 10 authentic Metropolitan chairs, made in Italy by B&B Italia. All in excellent/same condition with no detracting faults.

Stamp or Mark of authenticity: Visible B&BItalia logo is embossed to the lower seat back.

Provenance One owner, purchased from Space Furniture in 2006. No longer in production. Were RRP AUD $3,000 ea. Currently unused in storage

DC Insider Jeffrey Bernett studied Design at the prestigious Parnham Collecge England. He presented his first Collection at New York’s ICFF Design Fair in 1996. Invited to design for B&B Italia.

Our Condition Report 4/5 Excellent Vintage condition with minimal use noted. No structural faults or wear to leather. No marks. Currently in storage.
