IPE Tondo marble side table by James Irvine for Marsotto

The IPE Collection was created in 2010 by British Industrial Designer, James Irvine for Marsotto who produce highly resolved stone objects at their fabrica in Bovolone, Italy. They use traditional techniques combined with innovative technology to achieve the highest quality. Two versions, Tondo (round) and Quadro (sqaure) are produced.

DC Insider James Irvine was the son of British architect Alan Irvine and studied design in London with Jasper Morrison. Moving to Milan in 1984 and becoming a partner at Sottsass Associati led to projects with companies including Cappellini and Mercedes Benz. James is sadly no longer with us, but Studio Irvine lives on via his notes and drawings thanks to his partner, architect Maria-laura Irvine, who manages the ongoing collaborations with Studio Sottsass, Arper, Marsotto Muji, and Thonet, among others.
