Designed / released by whom / when Designed in 2001, Groundpiece is a seating system by Italian Architect Antonio Citterio that adapts to the many needs of 21st Century life. Flexform was established in 1959 and remains 100% third generation family owned today. The factory is located in Meda, near Lake Como.
Inspiration A sofa with heightened adaptability and comfort via extra large goose down back cushions.
Fabrication Steel frame, polyurethane padding, protective piece cover, Seat cushions self-plumping inner core surrounded with down fill. Back cushions down filled inners. Removable upholstery in fabric Elvis (41% viscose / 23% acrylic / 22% cotton / 14% linen) Col 889. Tubular steel supports with durable epoxy lacquer.
Hidden Features Extremely comfortable. Elements can be easily rearranged or moved away for cleaning, Seat cushions can also be flipped for increased longevity. Covers are fully removable / re orderable.

The large back cushions can be laid low and slouchy for watching TV, or positioned upright for conversation. Generous flat armrests support a tray, laptop or books.
