Designed / released by whom / when Designed in 2001, Groundpiece is a seating system by Italian Architect Antonio Citterio that adapts to the many needs of modern living. Flexform was established in 1959 and is still 100% (third generation) family owned. The Flexform factory is located in Meda, near Lake Como.

The Designer’s Inspiration A sofa system with heightened adaptability and comfort via extra large goose down back cushions.

Fabrication Steel frame, polyurethane padding, protective piece cover, Seat cushions self-plumping inner core surrounded with down fill. Back cushions down filled inners. Removable upholstery in fabric Elvis (41% viscose / 23% acrylic / 22% cotton / 14% linen) Col 889 cool brown. Tubular visible steel baseline supports with durable epoxy lacquer.

Hidden Features Extremely comfortable. Elements are not connected and can be easily rearranged, Seat cushions can also be flipped for added longevity. Cushion covers are removable.

Design Consigned Stylist The ultimate in quality, supreme comfort and versatility, this 4 element Groundpiece sofa from Flexform easily transforms into multiple configurations to suit all occasions (see images). The large back cushions can be laid low and slouchy for watching TV, or positioned upright for conversation. Generous flat armrests support a tray, laptop or books.
