Designed / made by whom/when: Designed in 1968 by Danish Designers Preben Fabricius and Jorgen Kastholm, this chromed steel and leather two seater sofa is from the 710 series released in 1968 by Walter Knoll.
Inspiration: The 710 series was nicknamed ‘conversation seating’ .
Fabrication: Solid bright chromed steel frame, full grain thick leather upholstery with French seams, channelled down cushion inserts.
Design Consigned Stylist: Form, function and finish combine in this Danish design. Your studio reception or modernist home will be resplendent featuring this raspberry red sofa made by Walter Knoll. The leather is tactile and the bright chromed steel frame shines like new.
Design Consigned Collector: Part of the 710 Series of 1968 made in Germany by Walter Knoll. This excellent collector piece looks immaculate with no faults.
Provenance: One owner, purchased approx. 2009, very minimal use in a commercial setting.
DC Insider: Jorgen Kastholm trained as a blacksmith before studying Architecture in Copenhagen while Preben Fabricius trained as a cabinet maker. They worked magic together designing furnitur for seven years and during this time were invited to create pieces for Walter Knoll. Kastholm later went on to design airport seating for over 120 airports around the world !
