Designed / launched by whom/when: Alain Monnens graduated with honours in Industrial Design from Belgium’s School of Arts in Genk. He creates products free of the unnecessary. “I don’t like products with decorations or additions that don’t add anything” he states. Sphere is produced by Belgian Lighting Specialists TossB (B for Belgium)

Inspiration: Instinctively relaxing, soft indirect lighting.

Fabrication: Ultra matt painted aluminium ‘sphere’ with white interior resting on a separate ring base.

Hidden Features: Can direct light in all directions.

Design Consigned Stylist: Sphere is described as a floor lamp but these are equally good on shelves or atop cabinets. Simply adjust the sphere position to suit. Place together at different angles. Direct onto a wall to create inviting and warm ambient light or add to a home library bookshelf.
