Smock lounge chair designed in 2005 by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso Italy. Patrizia Moroso carries on the family business her parents founded in 1952. As an Art school graduate she appreciates the artistic aspect of design and you find Moroso products often have exquisite stitch detailing like we see here on the Smock chair.

Design Inspiration The traditional stitch technique of smocking is applied to furniture design. An open bamboo ring handled string bag informs the form of this ‘welcoming nest’. 

Fabrication Swivel steel base and column powder coated, injected flame retardant polyurethane foam around steel frame, supple Italian leather upholstery in ivory.

Condition Report Top 5/5 perfect with no sign of use. Base 3/5 some loss of paint and rust to edge areas of base disc from indoor pooled water. Touch up yourself or re spray base.
