Original Cassina Le Corbusier LC1 lounge chair from the 1970s. SOLD

This iconic chair, designed c1928, is attributed to Le Corbusier, his cousin Pierre Jeanneret and French architect, Charlotte Perriand. The trio collaborated together on a number of successful prototypes at their atelier in the rue de Sevres, Paris between 1927-1937. These designs became known as the l’equipment d’interieur de l’habitation project.

Fabrication:Chrome plated tubular frame, slung seat and backrest with tilt, original leather looped armrests, new hide as per the original Design.

DC Stylist:A globally recognised Design icon, the LC1 is very comfortable with it’s tiltable back and slung seat, and though compact in size, it makes a big Design statement.

DC Collectors:Wears Le Corbusier’s signature, Cassina branding and the original serial number etched into the tubular frame. We have a verification email from Cassina Italy. The hide has been carefully replaced as per the original design.

DC Insider Knowledge:Two owners. Imported in the 1970s by a notoriously eccentric Melbourne architect. Original chromed frame remains bright overall with only a few small rust spot on side rail as shown. Original leather armrests are in good order with a nice authentic patina.

DC Insider:2015 marked the 50^th anniversary of Cassina’s production rights to the Le Corbusier designs. SOLD
