Lampadaire black floor lamp by Serge Mouille

SOLD Lampadaire Droit in black, a floor lamp by Serge Mouille (Paris 1922-1988). This lamp is a 1953 design from the ‘black shapes’ series which is still produced today exact to the original design. At age 13, Serge was the youngest student ever admitted to the Paris School of Applied Arts. Here he studied metalwork specialising in silver and gold smithing. He went on to create ornate handrails and chandeliers which inspired him to design the black shape series of lamps, still hand made today in France exclusively by Editions Serge Mouille.

Fabrication Carbon steel rod support in black powder coat finish with welded tripod legs and circular feet, solid brass pivot joint, black matt lacquered aluminium reflector with white interior.
