Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs from Carl Hansen & Son
Set of 10 authentic Wishbone chairs designed by Hans Wegner and made in Denmark by Carl Hansen & Son. Black paper cord on black painted frames.
Designed by whom / when The CH24 was designed in 1950 by young furniture maker Hans Wegner who was inspired by images he saw of Chinese Imperial thrones brought home by Dutch traders returning from the Far East. The Y back detail of the wishbone chair reflects these observations.
Fabrication Frame in CHS paint NSC S9000 Col black (semi gloss look). Dyed black natural paper cord woven seat.
Hidden Features The complex woven seat construction is a trademarked feature of the original CH24 wishbone chairs.
DC Stylist The all black wishbone chair best highlights the design’s silhouette plus it won’t clash with natural timber tables, joinery, or flooring. Best paired with a thin table top that allows the wishbone chair to tuck in without meeting the table top.
