Tito Agnoli P3 Italian mid century woven synthetic wicker lounge chairs from Bonacina Italy. SOLD

Designed / launched by whom/when: Bonacina was established in 1889 in the Italian basket making region of Lombardy. The P3 was commissioned in the 1960s by Vittorio and Pierantonio Bonacina. Designer Tito Agnoli (b1931 Lima Peru) a graduate of Milan Polytechnic was assistant to Gio Ponti creating designs for Arflex, Molteni, Cinova Lema among others. His work is represented in the permanent Design collection at MOMA New York.

Inspiration The Tito Agnoli P3 chairs for Bonacina originally had a corner piece to create a modular formation.

Fabrication Coated tubular steel frames, polycore Anilin wicker look woven seat / back.

DC Insider Giovanni Bonacina designed seating for The Villa D’Este in 1905. Mario Bonacina has re released a few of his grandfather’s early designs by Tito Agnoli for a new generation of admirers. These are in synthetic wicker.
