Table en Forme Libre (free form table) by French 20th Century designer Charlotte Perriand for Cassina. The designer began to conceptualise her table ‘en Forme Libre’ in 1938. It was to be the centrepiece in her atelier, located in the Montparnasse arrondissement, Paris. Local gallery owner Steph Simon was the first to put it into production during the 1950s. Seats 6-8.
The Designers Inspiration Rounded edges and asymmetric lines. “fluid asymmetries” – Charlotte Perriand.
Fabrication Solid wood top and legs with legno lacaato lucido (high gloss lacquer) in Col – Comfort (French grey), Legs of solid beechwood with internal concealed pulleys for fastening to top. Adhesive felt feet.
Design Consigned Stylist French design and style, beautifully executed by Cassina. This warm ‘French grey’ is absolute elegance. Works as a dining table or desk. Can seat up to eight, excellent for small spaces.
