Bespoke industrial style table by MAP Furniture designed by Melbourne’s Christopher Connell.

Inspired by the dynamics of modern living, timelessness, quality and simplicity combined with quality craftsmanship, Christopher Connell co-founded Melbourne’s MAP Design in 1988. MAP’s edgy yet elegant industrial aesthetic suited Melbourne’s emerging warehome and cafe scene of the 1990s and the brand soon acquired a cult following.

Inspiration:“Just draw and the ideas will come” says Chris.

Fabrication:Welded steel base with industrial powder coating in white gloss. Single slab 30mm profile timber top with bevelled edges. Plywood substrate. White paint finish.

Hidden Features:Removable top.

DC Stylist:A statement table which typifies the MAP aesthetic. Enjoy the existing top indoors or customise with your own stone, glass or timber alternative adding the potential for outdoor use. Design Consigned Collector:Authentic original, made in Melbourne, one owner, purchased from MAP Furniture Brighton Road St Kilda. Base in excellent condition with no detracting marks or chips. Top no chips or discolouring marks, however plenty of light scratches and a lacklustre finish after 7 years of family use.

DC Insider: MAP was acquired by well known Melbourne brand, Schiavello, in 2013. Christopher Connell Design continues it’s work in the Melbourne Hospitality scene, the latest Bar Carolina and Tetto cafe on Toorak Road South Yarra are where you can experience Chris’s fine eye for design detail. Chris also designed the seating system for Melbourne’s MPavillion 2019.
