Designed In 2015 by Luca Nichetto, Plass is a huge zeppelin of clear polycarbonate plastic in the Venetian inspired colours of brown-grey or aquamarine, and in two sizes, grande suspension and table lamp. Plass, a name which is a synthesis of plastic and glass. Luca was born in Venice and graduated in Industrial Design from Venice University in 1988 going on to produce Designs for Glas Italia, moooi, Hermes, Land Rover and others.

Designer’s Inspiration The refraction of internal light via grooved plastic that gives the visual impression of classical Venetian Murano glass.

Fabrication Roto moulded polycarbonate shell, dual light source in brushed aluminium with suspension wires and transparent electric cable

Hidden Features The polycarbonate looks like glass minus the fragility or weight, allowing more potential applications.

Design Consigned Stylist Stairwell satellite or lobby lozenge, Plass melds Venetian glamour and modern technology. The unsuspecting will be fooled and awed by it’s sheer size and glass like appearance.
