The Happy Collection of seating was designed in 2005 by Italian architect Antonio Citterio for Flexform Italy. The defining outstanding design feature being the hand woven cowhide to the backrests. There are sofas, a chaise and a lounge chair. Here we offer one / or a pair of lounge chairs in leather.

Fabrication Solid flat profile extruded steel frame in dark bronze finish. Dark brown cow hide cord hand woven back. Sprung woven webbing seat support. Separate seat and back cushions plus smaller backrest cushion, all with boxed piped seams. Sectioned goose down fill cushion inners. Polished leather. Colour is a cool brown / grey / bronze

Design Consigned Stylist The generous Happy lounge chair is a must for spaces where the intricate woven leather back can be appreciated.

Mark of Authenticity Both have the Flexform logo lining fabric, and cushion inner labels. Flexform sticker label to frames.

Design Consigned Collectors A vintage collectible design pair by master designer, Antonio Citterio. Only the Happy chaise remains in production today, retailing at over $10,000, due to the complex and costly craftsmanship involved in the design.

Provenance One owner 2009

Our Condition Report 3/5 Vintage (that’s over 10 years) Both in same condition. Steel frames 4/5 still excellent with no structural or detracting faults. No breaks or fade to woven leather backs. All leather cushions show general patina and fade in areas, consistent with age, but no holes or tears. The leather colour can be professionally cleaned and restored to the original colour, or perhaps enjoy the wonderful patinated vintage look.
