Knoll Desk 1970
Rare 1970’s executive desk with polished chrome inlay strips designed by Richard Schultz for Knoll Inc. U.S.A. and made under licence in Australia by William Latchford & Sons.
No veneers here. This solid timber man-sized desk is designed to be placed away from the wall to show the magnificent timber grain on the front face.
Has been well used, as expected, but exterior in good condition and ready for more business. Has had a cable hole added in top, a modification for todays technology.
A small ‘mouse’ area on the desktop needs a re polish. [see image]
Florence and Hans Knoll’s furniture is synonymous with post war modernism and the birth of ‘corporate’ design. Their pieces are instantly recognizable and built to last. Designs are influenced by the Bauhaus movement and this one is by German designer Richard Schultz.
