Steelwood dining setting by Bouroullec for Magis
Casual dining setting by French Industrial Designer brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec
Designed / launched by whom/when: The Steelwood Chair was designed in 2007 by French brothers Ronan (b1971) & Erwan (b1976) Bouroullec, Bouroullec.com and tables, shelving, stools and coat stands were added, using the same structural elements, in 2009. The brothers began their collaboration with Italian makers Magis in 2004.
Inspiration: Steel meets wood, literally.
Fabrication: Seat and legs in solid European beechwood stained black, ‘folded’ metal frame in steel plate in polyester powder coat. Table top in HPL black 8150
Design Consigned Stylist: A decidedly urban, semi-Industrial aesthetic, ideal for casual meals or meeting areas. And of course we love this version in our ‘Melbourne black’.
Design Consigned Collector: Please do not condone Design theft by purchasing replicas of these chairs.
Stamp or Mark of authenticity: All wear Magis & Bouroullec logo.
Verified: Viewed by Design Consigned. A few years old but minimal use and looked excellent.
DC Insider: Fatigue Load & Imapct tested and certified ANSI/BIFMA X5.5-2008
