Design graduate Nipa Doshi (b India) and cabinet maker Jonathan Levien (b London) established their Design Studio DoshiLevien.com in 2010. Combining Nipa’s visually colourful cultural background with Jonathan’s eye for detail has resulted in a unique aesthetic capturing the attention of Italian makers Moroso, B&BItalia and Cappellini.
Inspiration: origami favourites, in particular the folded paper plane.
Fabrication: Solid square steel, grey powder coated frame with steel glides, flame retardant cold-formed polyurethane foam padding, woven jacquard fabric upholstery.
Features: orange chair is the right low 379, blue is the high back left low 382.
Design Consigned Stylist: Indian contemporary with modernist angles. Excellent as a pair, the contrasting colours and different heights complimenting each other perfectly. Designed for conversation, not Netflix.
Design Consigned Collector: Authentic originals, made in Italy by Moroso.
Stamp or Mark of authenticity: Seat embroidered with the DL Doshi Levien logo.
DC Insider: 5 years old but no sign of wear. Look like new. Retail value $7714 ea . Feel sturdy with a good weight to them.
