Erik Jorgensen sofa
Danish design 3 seater sofa by Erik Jorgensen of Copenhagen
Designed / launched by whom/when: In 1954 Erik Jorgensen established his ‘mobelfabrik’ on an island off Copenhagen. Today sons Ole and Niels continue their fathers tradition of fine upholstery working with designers such as Gam Fratesi.
Inspiration: High quality upholstery derived from a background in saddlery combined with a passion for contemporary design.
Fabrication: solid timber frame. Screw in solid brushed steel feet. Soft grey wool upholstery.
Hidden Features: A nice weighty sofa. Feet are removable if you wish to update them to black or timber.
Design Consigned Stylist: The ultimate contemporary Scandinavian sofa, minimal in form, yet softly rounded, cosy to the touch in practical ‘nordic’ grey.
Design Consigned Collector: Purchased from the now defunct Corporate Culture Flinders Lane Melbourne. 2002.
DC Insider: Hardly used, looks like new.
