Minotti king bed by Rodolfo Dordoni
Natural linen look upholstered ‘moore’ king bed frame by Italian architect Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti Italy.
Designed / launched by whom/when: Designed in 1998 by architect Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti following which he was invited on board as Design Director and has remained in that role to this day. Rodolfo has collaborated with many leading Italian design firms including Artemide Lighting, Cappellini and Foscarini.
Inspiration: super low architectural and masculine design. The bed appears to float above four highly polished silver ‘plinths’.
Fabrication: moulded Italian plywood slats rest on a solid timber frame. Honeycomb timber headboard with cotton canvas covered padding. Frame and headboard removable covers in HAIFA colore 02 Naturale 52% linen 48% viscose. Dry clean only. All comes apart for transport.
Design Consigned Stylist: Low profile architectural look in classic Italian natural linen look. A bed for minimalist spaces.
Design Consigned Collector: Authentic original, made in Italy by Minotti Spa. Purchased in 2008 from DeDeCe. In very good condition for its age, with no detracting faults. Model no longer in production. Expect to pay $15,000 plus for a new Minotti bed.
