Void by Patricia Urquiola for BBitalia
Table from the Void Collection by Patricia Urquiola. Seats up to 8.Designed by whom/when: VOID c2003, was the first Collection designed by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola for B&BItalia and included four elements: a coffee table, console, slim desk and this dining table which also came in a smaller version.
Inspiration: Tables with options to display treasures under flush crystal glass inserts or to store cutlery etc within the two ‘voids’ created via timber panels that can be set below the surface and form part of the table support.
Fabrication: Multi-layered ply, honeycomb panels, oak veneer brushed light, extra light crystal glass, thermoplastic ferrules (joiners)
DC Insider: Patricia, who was born in Spain but lives and works in Milan, has a playful unconventional approach to design coupled with an architectural background which can be seen in the design of VOID.
Design Consigned Stylist: Here’s a unique dining table. What will you display in there under the glass ? Seasonal ‘found’ treasures from nature ?
Design Consigned Collector: Rare authentic original, made in Italy by B&BItalia. Limited edition series, no longer available. Authenticity: Verified Space Furniture. 10 years old, possibly the only one in Australia.
*please note this table is rated 3/5 due to some light marks to the veneered top (see image) which can be repaired upon request.
