Moroso smock lounge chair
Moroso smock lounge chair designed in 2005 by Patricia Urquiola.
Designed by: Patricia Urquiola has created a very different lounge chair with a feminine expression inspired by the traditional womens dressmaking craft of ‘smocking’, a form of gathering and stitching fabric. The ‘ring’ armrests were inspired by bamboo handles on macrame bags whilst the wide and curved seat is reminiscent of a baseball mitt.
Fabrication: Black powder solid steel swivel pole support on disc, upholstery in black/sand ‘tweed’ fabric and stitch detailing on the leather covered tubular steel arm rests.
DC Stylist: Sophisticated eye catching, stand alone chair with an equestrian/bespoke mood ‘dressed’ in a textured neutral ‘coat’ with ‘gathering’ and lovely stitched leather arms. The upholstery is firm, the seat is wide with a semi reclined low to medium back height. The swivel seat is a nice feature.
Design Consigned Insider: The steel base and frame adds lots of weight and stability to this chair adding further to the feeling of luxury.
DC Collector: A unique design that cannot be replicated.
