Extremely rare Lazy Working Sofa by Philippe Starck for Cassina with integrated side tables and reading lamps by Flos Lighting.
Designed / made by whom/when: Designed in 1998 by famed French Contemporary Designer Philippe Starck for high-end Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina incorporating reading lamps by Flos Lighting.
Inspiration: For ‘lazy work’. And be even more lazy in this, the deeper seat version.
Fabrication: Inner steel frame, grey matt lacquered tubular steel feet and table supports, 2 x laminated side tables in white, removable loose cover in dark navy linen look upholstery weight fabric with self-piping, 2 x Flos hinged flex arm lamps with ivory knife pleat fabric shades. Third spare shade included.
Hidden Features: The Lazy Working Collection included a sofa in two seat depths, an armchair and ottoman. This is the more rare, deeper more loungy version.
DC Stylist: The LWS sofa epitomises 1990s contemporary French avant-garde Design. Traditional style armrests and a deep seat so you can ‘laze’ amongst all your favourite scatter cushions.
Design Consigned Collector: Authentic original, made in Italy by Cassina. Very rare, no longer in production and one of only a few brought into Australia.
Mark of authenticity: Wears Cassina and Flos branding.
Purchase Verification: One owner, purchased from Space Furniture 15 years ago. Minimal use. Done time in storage.
DC Insider: Amazing condition for it’s age with no faults to upholstery, very faint 5cm mark to one table, both lamps fully functioning. Some tiny rust spots. Tear to the base lining fabric which cannot be seen. Request a video.
