Luke modernist leather bench
Original 1998 black leather modernist daybed / bench / seat. Now reduced
Designed by whom/when: Bill Luke began making furniture in Albert Street, Richmond in inner Melbourne during the early 1990s. It was a bit of a trade secret at the time, a place where architects could order Herman Miller pieces from the US or commission custom made Mid Century style design pieces for their projects.
Inspiration: American Modernism meet Melbourne.
Fabrication: Chromed steel 30mm square profile frame with black leather upholstered seat and cylindrical leather bolster with self piping.
Design Consigned Stylist: Place in an entry or hallway, in front of a full height window, at the foot of a bed, in a dressing room or under an artwork. So many possibilities with this sleek modernist design.
Design Consigned Collector: Original 90’s Luke Furniture design. Made in Melbourne 1998. Beautifully maintained with no detracting faults or damage.
