Rudder table by Isamu Noguchi for Herman Miller

Authentic Rudder coffee table IN-52 with fin support designed in 1949 by Japanese American sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988). It has an amorphic shaped top much the same as isamu’s more famous glass topped coffee table. This design is an authorised archival reissue by Herman Miller.

Inspiration Sculpture and furniture design were intertwined for Isamu, who was influenced by his father Yonejiro, a Japanese poet, and his mother Leonie, a writer of Irish descent.
