Designed by whom / when: B&BItalia commissioned Dutch Designer Marcel Wanders to create a commemorative Design object for their 2007 Milan Fair Exhibit & Store opening on Via Durini, Milano.
Inspriation: Haiku, a short Japanese poem of a few lines.
Fabrication: Handmade ceramic porcelain, hand applied polychrome printed naïve motifs designed by Marcel Wanders.
Hidden Features: A complex moulding technique was created in order to produce these oversized limited edition ceramics.
DC Stylist: Striking decorative object for larger coffee or dining tables. A sustainable gift idea.
Design Consigned Collector: Rare original decorative bowl, one of four designed by Marcel Wanders in 2007. There were two sizes, this being the larger, at D75cm diameter. Each design is an expression of Marcels creative imagination, always a clever mix of the unexpected !
Exhibited as part of the Marcel Wanders retrospective at Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art & Design, Amsterdam, 2014.
