Designed / launched by whom/when: 1946 saw the beginning of Ray and Charles Eames association with American furniture producers, Herman Miller, who continue to manufacture Eames moulded multi ply timber chairs today.
Inspiration: Wood moulded into contours thus broadening its capability for human adaptive seating.
Fabrication: Natural walnut moulded 5 ply wood layers with tough hardwood inner ply layer, chromed tubular steel support frame, black rubber shock absorbing attachment mounts.
Highlight Features: The semi matt clear finish displays the rich colour and beauty of the walnut grain.
Design Consigned Stylist: Authentic iconic Modernist style chairs, great for small space living. Also double in the living area as occasional seating.
DC Collector: Set of 4 authentic originals, made in the USA by Herman Miller.
Provenance: One owner, 4 years, purchased from Living Edge. Minimal sign of use. One minor scratch to one seat.
DC Insider: Charles Eames was an avid fan of Frank Lloyd Wright and infuriated his architecture tutors by refusing to study other architectural influences.
