Decorative carved frame with ‘distressed’ painted finish, beautifully upholstered in a high quality damask velvet.

Purchased 20 years ago from La Maison Jean-Pierre Heurteau on High Street Armadale. This sofa is a fine example of its kind.

Jean-Pierre is well known amongst Melbournes’ high society for his decorative and flamboyant furniture.

A Melbourne man through and through, Jean Pierre began work at iconic department store ‘Georges’ on Collins Street where he often served customers from country Victorias ‘Western District’ mansions. He began to source fine furniture pieces from Europe for them and later established a store on High Street. He now undertakes full Interior projects that reflect his impeccable style.
