A rare 1970s Charles Hollis Jones lucite vanity stool upholstered in Missoni fabric. Useful eye candy for your bathroom / dressing room /vanity.
Some designers become famous by specializing in a particular material and LA based Charles Hollis Jones is one of them. Lucite / Acrylic / Plexiglass – all marketing names given to the new 1950s material which Charles Hollis Jones pioneered, making commissioned pieces for celebrities like Frank Sinatra, Lucielle Ball and Johnny Carson.
Fabrication: 12mm thick Lucite. Made in the USA. Both upholstery and frame are in excellent condition with only a few faint marks to the lucite.
360 degree Swivel via a central steel pivot.
DC Collector: Rare collector piece in very good condition, perhaps the only one in Australia. Charles Hollis Jones was born in 1945 and at 71 is still designing today.
Design Consigned Stylist: Glamorous accessory for monochrome interiors. Missoni fabric adds 21st Century style.
